Isolum, true story...very late last night, I was doing some work at the computer and when I took a break, I checked amazon and there was one just sitting there waiting to buy. I clicked on my account and placed it in shopping cart, but was falling asleep and barely could stay awake. I said to myself, oh, I'll finish up in the morning and shut everything down...can you believe? Since they probably only got one last night, I bet the one you got, was the one I didn't finish ordering. So wondering, does that mean I can at least borrow yours whenever I need to? :) Knowing my luck, it will be another 6 months till I come across one again.

Oh dear, I'm so sorry! I immediately added it to my shopping cart--figured it would only last for minutes!

Isolum, You could have at least called me up to ask if I was ever going to press the "buy" button before you brought it :)

That teaches me to stay awake! I wonder if wekre in simiilar time zones...in other words, how long after I fell asleep, you purchased it. Great lens...enjoy!

I always understood that the waiting time was in proportion to the cost. Thereby allowing you sufficient time to heal from the surgery involved in removing whichever body part you had to sell in order to purchase the product. :D

Amazingly, my wait was only one day. I e-mailed Allen's Cameras of Levittown, PA this week (where I bought a 50mm Summilux ASPH in February off the shelf) after daydreaming about the new 35mm Summilux to request that I be placed on his waiting list and, to my complete surprise, Allen responded an hour later that he had just received one the day before and it was not yet spoken for. It is now on my M9, ready to be put through its paces this weekend. Allen is fantastic to work with - a complete pro and gentleman in every way. I highly recommend him and his shop.

I happened to check my Amazon.com wish list this morning & it was in stock. I couldn't believe it, but I immediately ordered it. It has been shipped & will arrive on Monday. I guess that is "zero" wait time.

So you were the one who got the last one! I too found out by coincidence that Amazon.com had it in stock. I was reading reviews for the lens, and one of them had a link to Amazon. Having checked earlier in the day and seeing that Amazon had no stock, I decided "Eh, let's just click on it for fun". To my surprise, it said that the lens was not only in stock, but that there were TWO left! Needless to say, I ordered that thing within the next minute. When I checked again in the morning, the last one was gone as well, which is the one you got, Isolum.

Another interesting thing to note is that the lens no longer shows up in Amazon searches, although the direct link to it is still working.

Inquired about it June. My dealer asked if I was interested in the one they had just received mid July. They made me an offer I couldn't refuse for credit, so I said yes right away. So, say about 4 weeks total. Later, I learnt I had been rather lucky, all the more so as I hadn't placed an order in the first place, just indicated I would be interested... There you go.:)
