Hi there. Wondered if anyone can guide me to a good CLA company/person in the UK. I found CRR in Luton but according to their site but they are not accepting work till 2011. I have a 90mm fat Elmarit that needs a look as there is some play in the focus assembly. Thanks in anticipation. Robin.

Robin, I would give Peter Grisaffi at CRR a 'phone call. When my SL needed a repair and service, I was initially discouraged when I saw the 6 month workload message but I went ahead and tried a call. Not only did Peter accept and do the work within a fortnight, he was also very generous with his time on the 'phone. Really excellent work.

Give Malcolm Taylor a ring, his phone is (0)1568 770542. He did a good job on a Summicron

for me which had 0.04 mm play in its focussing mount and coded the lens. It took about 10 days and the cost was reasonable.

Agreed. Neat coding of pre-asph 50 summilux for £60; cleaned same lens £50. £10 for next day return delivery.
