leicanut2 Posted October 30, 2010 Share #1 Posted October 30, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I was wondering in a lot of pictures of the D-lux 5 cameras on line, you see a silver ring around the lens well mine does not have that, and am I happy, it looks better all black. If you mean a silver ring out closer to the front lens element (which I have seen in pictures) mine does not have that. One of the DL-5 pictures on the B+H web site, the one with the lens extended, shows a silver ring out closer to the front lens element. I wonder if some of the pictures released are of prototype cameras, or if that might be a subtle way of identifying cameras released to various different world markets. I already had the CF 22 flash and, yes, it is pretty weak! One advantage that I have found however is that I can use the Canon off-camera shoe cord and have off-camera flash for macros or bounce flash. I think the tiny silver ring buy the body must have something to do with the lens mount and they all have that one. Canon off camera shoe mount interesting idea.
