Leica Solms service - FANTASTIC

One of my recent posts stated that a local camera shop scratched the sensor on my M9 and i only had 2 weeks before going to Hong Kong and Thialand. (Never will it go to anyone other than a Leica dealer again!!!).

Anyway, just to let everyone know that the service from Solms has been no less than EXCELLENT!!!!

The camera was picked up the day i rang, delivered to Solms, repaired (Under passport no less) and sent back to me within 6 days (with a weekend in between).

Chris, your suggestion of who to contact was excellent, i thank you!!!!!

I have had a number of repairs in New Jersey, and I have found if I called ahead, made arrangements, especially if I had a looming deadline like leaving the country, they came through. Always have be very accommodating and courteous on the phone.

 

Once, they couldn't do everything required, they emailed and we worked it out that I would have the other work completed later - the tech was on vacation for three weeks. The only time I have had trouble - 2-1/2 months for adjust focus on a camera that was 1 week old - was when I sent it in without calling first.

I don't call New Jersey before I send in the camera but I call about 2-3 days after it has arrived and been logged in. By then they generally have a repair schedule and I can negotiate. I've had good luck with that routine so far.
