Advertisement Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Hi MPJMP, Take a look here Release Date for D-LUX 5 Accessories?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
leicanut2 Posted October 25, 2010 Share #2 Posted October 25, 2010 Not sure about the case but I just got a email from a Leica dealer they said the grip was to come out this month, so we got to wait and see month is almost over. Cheers Jan
visoflex Posted October 26, 2010 Share #3 Posted October 26, 2010 I've seen a couple of the £90 brown leather cases. They look nice, but they don't have a wrist strap. As the case has a strap, and the full camera neck strap won't fit into the case with the camera; then the design intent must be that the owner should drop the camera - thus generating replacement sales! Until this oversight has been rectified, I won't be buying one.
MPJMP Posted October 26, 2010 Author Share #4 Posted October 26, 2010 No wrist strap?! That's odd, considering the DL4 case came standard with an included wrist strap.
leicanut2 Posted October 26, 2010 Share #5 Posted October 26, 2010 Hey there are two Leica viewfinders on ebay right now. There for the DL-5 Cheers Jan

MPJMP, how about the wrist strap from X1? I just ordered mine since I just couldn't stand the neck strap from DL4 experience was not pleasant. Sincerely, TC Welcome, dear visitor! leicanut2 Posted November 9, 2010 Share #8 Posted November 9, 2010 Jan, how about using DL4 brilliant VF (non-electric) or Voigtlander VF? TC No, I like the one for the DL-5. I had the panny GF1 sold it but I am using the viewfinder from that for the DL-5 Pop Flash has batteries and leice viewfinder and handgrip on the site and on ebay for the DL-5 if anyone is still looking for those items. tcrown Posted November 9, 2010 Share #9 Posted November 9, 2010 Jan, does EVF actually show all the data when you shoot? Like ISO value, metering and such? TC
farnz Posted November 9, 2010 Share #10 Posted November 9, 2010 Jan, does EVF actually show all the data when you shoot? Like ISO value, metering and such? Yes it does, and zooms with the lens. Pete.

wmyowell Posted November 11, 2010 Share #12 Posted November 11, 2010 Mine arrived today, with the EVF. It takes a completely different battery than the D-Lux 4, and the Leica hand grip for the 4 almost, but not quite fits. The battery/memory card door hinge is located a few mm differently, so the 4 grip won't fit. I like the package; don't have to hold it out at arm's length. We all know that the nose, eyebrow and cheek are intended to steady the camera. No memory card comes with the camera, but the little ones that Leica packaged with the others were pretty useless and I have a number of them. I've ordered one of Richard Franiec's grips. Thought this would be of interest. Bill Yowell

I just am not sure about how it mounts and if it would damage the cameras surface if you ever wanted to remove it for any reason.Ha and the price is right too. wmyowell Posted November 12, 2010 Share #14 Posted November 12, 2010 Richard Franiec claims it can be removed without marring the camera. It mounts with an adhesive. Bill Yowell
MPJMP Posted November 18, 2010 Author Share #15 Posted November 18, 2010 Can anyone else (besides visoflex) confirm or deny that the D-LUX 5 leather case does not come with a wrist lanyard? I really need a way to carry this thing around with me, but the shoulder case without a wrist strap seems pointless.
