Gabrielnoraa Posted October 19, 2010 Author Share #4 Posted October 19, 2010 Hi, Koray, I just had to post them here. I'm sure a lot of people have the same interest as I do to see the interiors of the Digilux 2 / LC1. I don't have the courage to pull a screw driver and open it up, and see it for myself. So I must thank you for your sharing. Gracias. This is what I was looking in the first place: http://repairnotes.wordpress.com/2009/09/26/lc1-disassembly-guide/
symmetron Posted October 20, 2010 Share #5 Posted October 20, 2010 Since you are expert at disassembling these cameras, when my D2 came back from Leica after having its sensor replaced, of course there was some lint/dust right inside of the eyepiece on the EVF. I've looked at your photos in the past, but was unsure of the approach to removing the dust/lint. It appears that there may be some significant disassembly involved although i was hoping that all was required was to remove the eyepiece rubber cover and then the screws would be exposed to remove the eyepiece cover, but I don't think it's that simple. Can you provide some specific advice?
koray Posted October 20, 2010 Share #6 Posted October 20, 2010 Hi Vettran, I remember that the EVF was a sealed block part in LC1/D2. I am not sure if the front glass was glued or snapped in place. Disassembly of the camera isn't that hard for skilled hands, but cleaning the interior of the EVF block might be challenging, I think. See the photo below: Regards, K. symmetron Posted October 20, 2010 Share #7 Posted October 20, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) K., I thin it's just dust/lint between the external glass eyepiece and the EVF screen. Getting the glass eyepiece seems as though it would work, but not sure how to take it off?
koray Posted October 21, 2010 Share #8 Posted October 21, 2010 Vettran, the coated external glass that you see from the outside of the camera is an integrated part of the EVF module (as seen in above photo). I am not sure if it is glued or snapped in place. You will need to remove the whole module and investigate further. Unfortunately I don't own neither LC1 nor D2 any more, so I can't check it now. Please let us know and post pictures if you try doing it. Kind regards, Koray
