Vicente Posted October 16, 2010 Share #1 Posted October 16, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anyone had much experience with slide scanners and/or flatbed scanners to scan M2 films? If so, what would be the best buy for a sub $200 budget? Regards, Vicente

too old to care Posted October 16, 2010 Share #2 Posted October 16, 2010 There has been several threads on this subject over the past few months, however the $200 budget may be new. I have a Canon 8800F scanner that is in that price range. I bought it to scan slides and it does that task very well. I then tried it on B&W negs and it also does that well. However, I cannot get a decent scan from a color negative. I have tried Vuescan with the scanner on my Mac, but it does not work well. Good luck. Vicente Posted October 17, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted October 17, 2010 Right now there is Nikon Coolscan III for $200. Is this a good buy? And how much does dpi matter in the final output of the scanned image? Sorry for the questions, definitely new to this! Respectfully, Vicente
