pop Posted October 16, 2010 Share #5 Posted October 16, 2010 I should have mentioned that the D3 is "practically" the same camera as the Panasonic Lumix DMC L1. They use the same batteries.
ASpes Posted October 18, 2010 Share #6 Posted October 18, 2010 Is there an off the shelf battery replacement for the D3? Thanks Just a small hint that might save you a few bucks ... If you're looking for third party batteries you might want to check the ones offered for the Digilux 2, as they are often cheaper than *the same battery* when offered for the D/3-L1 ... marketing rules. While the D/2 batteries were originally tagged at 1400mAh, and the D/3-L1 ones at 1500mAh, I expect any replacement to be today of the latter type. Don't worry about the D/2, D/3 or L1 tag when buying a battery replacement, they are fully compatible, I have all the three cameras and have been sharing the same batteries on all of them for years without any problem. Best.
