carlprad Posted October 11, 2010 Share #1 Posted October 11, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) If I send my Leica M8 to Leica NJ center for a complete service, what do they do? 1) do they check focus? 2) will they adjust and lubricate the shutter mechanism? 3) will they clean the sensor? 4) how about updating the firmware? 5) do they make sure all the dials are turning smoothly? Sorry for all the ignorant questions; but I could really use some help, before sending my M8 to Leica NJ, and forking over some cash. earleygallery Posted October 13, 2010 Share #2 Posted October 13, 2010 If it aint broke don't fix it! Is your focus off? Shutter defective? Why do you think it needs servicing? Leica will do whatever is required to bring a camera up to full working order, that will vary with each and every one. Learn how to clean the sensor yourself.
