ryee3 Posted October 9, 2010 Share #1 Posted October 9, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) The 280mm f4 is outstanding but hard to find these days. Can someone comment if the 105-280mm zoom would be a good alternative solution? Does anyone have any significant experience with this lens and does it have better IQ than a 280mm f2.8 which is much easier to obtain than the 280mm f4. I am trying to decide on which lens would give the best IQ. Thanks for your comments.

I have one, and I will not let it go while I still have the R system at all (or anything else that can use it). I can't make comparative judgments though, as I have no direct experience of the others. But the 280/4 is around. It was reported on this forum in another thread that the Leica dealer in Manchester had one, and it is still listed on their site. £2995.
