symmetron Posted October 3, 2010 Share #1 Posted October 3, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Leica replaced the sensor on my D2 last year and I have't really used it much until lately. However, I swear that the shutter button seems a little "sticky". When the shutter button is depressed to the half way point (where the AF and exposure are locked), it's virtually smooth with no resistance. When the shutter button is then depressed fully to actuate the shutter, there's some mechanical resistance as if the shutter's sticky. It's not the electronics in the shutter button as it does the same thing when the camera is turned off and the shutter button is depressed. What are other D2 owners experiencing? Advertisement Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Hi symmetron, Take a look here D2 Sticky Shutter Button Question. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
LKeithR Posted October 4, 2010 Share #2 Posted October 4, 2010 On my D2--and Panasonic LC-1--there seems to be ever so slightly more resistance when you push the shutter button through the final part of its travel. Perhaps I'm just noticing it now because you've mentioned it; it's that slight. I wouldn't worry unless it becomes noticeably stickier...
symmetron Posted October 4, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted October 4, 2010 Same here; I guess that's normal? There are so few of these cameras around to compare with in person at camera stores, these forums are the only source of comparative information. stuny Posted October 4, 2010 Share #4 Posted October 4, 2010 Vettran - My D2 (and three others I've handled) all behave exactly as Keith's. However, who knows if something sticky leaked into yours? Perhaps if you tell us what city you live in or near you can find another D2 owner who can directly compare cameras with you.
symmetron Posted October 4, 2010 Author Share #5 Posted October 4, 2010 I live around Washington DC.
stuny Posted October 5, 2010 Share #6 Posted October 5, 2010 Vettran - I'll probably not be back to the District until early December, and will no doubt have my D2 with me. Of course if you find youself coming to NY let me know: stuart.nordheimer@opco.com
symmetron Posted October 5, 2010 Author Share #7 Posted October 5, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks; I appreciate your effort. Based on your advice, I'll try and track down another D2 user and canvas the local camera stores.
