No it is not. Nik Software charges $99 for the upgrade or 99 Euro for within the EU

I'm in the US and it downloaded for FREE to CS5 and LR3, at which point it asked for my product key from the original purchase. I input the code and it works fine.

I had the same results with Viveza 2 over two months ago.

Odd that the policy would be different if you are outside the continental US.

In addition:

A friend from Canada bought a new iMac and reloaded Silver Efex Pro (32 bit) on Thursday and learned on Friday morning of the new 64 bit edition which he then downloaded again. His upgrade in BOTH cases was FREE.

From the Nik website:

"We are currently working on the remaining plug-ins and will make those available free of charge to registered customers as they become available. Registered customers will be notified of the availability of 64-bit versions by email, including instructions on how to access the updated versions."

Says the same thing on the Facebook Fan Page as well. On FB, they recommend "uninstalling" the current version before upgrading, which I didn't do. But everything went fine.

I set the counry to US on the Nik home page and here I can download for free. I guess the web sides are not yet up do date.

Yes, Vivenza worked fine when the upgrade came.

Cheers

Thanks for the Heads-Up.

I signed in with my Silver Efex ID and downloaded fine.

The download recognized all applicable software on my system (Win 7) and installed Silver Efex . . automatically to all.

Without asking for more money.

Good way of doing business.

I will buy more of their stuff.
