That's reassuring to know.:( What happened to the 5-7 day turnaround that was being enjoyed earlier in the year?

Ian,

Cracked sensors?

I will phone Solms service after Photokina and see if anything better than 6 weeks is offered plus maybe pick up. The 6 weeks figure came from MK service.

The vertical alignment is not that far out and I can manage until February. It is a odd thing that the further the images are unaligned, the more the vertical displacement. If I focus at a roof corner about 1Km away with my M8 and move off infinity focus, the bottom edges of the two roof images (the true and the RF window) stay aligned. In the M9, the RF window image seems to move away diagonally from the true image upwards. At infinity focus, the images are only fractionally far apart but it is disturbing to see the RF window image moving diagonally rather than horizontally towards the true image as you come into focus. Can someone else with an M9 to see if theirs acts like that as well.

Noel - I think I can borrow the eccentric pin screwdriver from a friend, when I get back to the UK, if he still has one (it would be his father's). If not, you can buy them on eBay for a lot less than Leica charges. I could always buy the tool and rent it out to forum members at $10 a time ;-}}

Clearly a whiner all his posts are like that.

Noel

Who's a "whiner" ? Not that it really matters . . . I just looked at the link and there's someone pointing out that his repair has been delayed for what seems no good reason, and he's been waiting months for a new lens for which the maker still can't even give a delivery date. Sounds more like a fair and justifiable observation to me.

Hi Wilson

Tongue was firmly in cheek.

Noel

.....ah well, you need then to add the tongue in cheek image to avoid misunderstanding.
