Upon leaving Papua New Guinea we went to NSW in Oz. NSW was experiencing a drought, but unfortunately for us the Blue Mountains seemed to be getting some relief. For more Australia pictures after PNG, please see the two “Australia After PNG" pages on our site.

Bernardo -

Thank you. I generally avoid using flash and seldom bring a flash unit with me (an exception was to catch a tapir at a salt lick at midnight in the Manu rainforest of Peru). This is one of those instances in which the overcast and light rain made for ideal lighting on the flower.

Pete - thank you. I agree re: the added impact of the water.

Andy - On this trip I just had the R8/DMR and the FX01. The latter died in a diving accident, and we almost had a burial at sea. At present my D2 is on its way to Solms, my FZ20 is with a dear friend, so it's just R8/DMR for a bit (though Panasonic is going to help with the replacement of the FX01) Finally, in short answer to your specific question: R8/DMR/28-70
