Paul Glendell Posted September 15, 2010 Share #1 Posted September 15, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Is there anyone out there still using capture one software for the leica m8 - I have a feeling that I boughjt the wrong software when I got my secondhand M8 Anyway on a very technical question when setting the Curve value should I be using the various film versions ie, film standard, film high contrast or film shadow or should I be using the Linear setting of curve, they certainly all look somewhat different when clicked on. Any ideas please Paul www.glendell.co.uk

archi4 Posted September 16, 2010 Share #2 Posted September 16, 2010 I still use Capture 1 5pro for my leica dng files I also have LR3 and PSCS5, but for best development still prefer Capture One, especially for skin tones. I always start with "film standard" and the linear curve and go from there. maurice
jaapv Posted September 16, 2010 Share #3 Posted September 16, 2010 I normally use film standard , correct with the sliders and in Photoshop I find I often apply a linear curve to color images and a medium contrast one to B&W. I prefer making such corrections (for the color images) in CS5 on the luminance channel in LAB to prevent color shifts.
Paul Glendell Posted September 16, 2010 Author Share #4 Posted September 16, 2010 Hello Folks I have been using Film Standard in C1 five as the setting and it seems that you both think this is the best one to go for so I'll continue using it. I confess to not really understanding what Linear Curve is so if anyone can explain it, I might just learn something thanks for the help - Paul www.glendell.co.uk
