That seems very shallow thinking to me. If one really looks at a portrait like this, it tells a great deal about the subject and the photographer. The individual doesn't always have to be in some context for the portrait to have depth and meaning. Otherwise, many great photographers--Yousef Karsh, for example--have wasted their lives.

They are only superficial because you refuse look deeply enough to see what is there.

thats why I brought up the examples from Yousef Karsh, to show the difference, very interesting deep portraits!

and! how I "look" is not your problem, just stick to the picture above and don´t get personal, leave me my opinion, like I leave in peace your opinion!

regards Stefan

I see. So you want to criticize someone's photography, but your comments may not then be disagreed with by anyone else. Thank you for making that clear to me. Now that I understand the rule, I'll be sure to follow it in the future.

I wrote about the photograph above.( I am here to talk about photography) I am not here to talk about other peoples comments.

you can ask me about my opinion, thats not a problem at all, but you commented my comment in your first statement, in your second comment you went even more fare, you told me ( in your opinion) that I don´t "look" the right way....
