tmldds Posted September 9, 2010 Share #2 Posted September 9, 2010 It is called "pho," a very popular Vietnamese dish! I am glad you liked it, Henry. BTW, it is still Saigon for me. Tri:)
Guest WPalank Posted September 9, 2010 Share #3 Posted September 9, 2010 Henry, I think you are referring to Phở (pronounced Fu). I'm addicted to the stuff and eat it for breakfast all the time along with iced Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk. I ate it almost everyday in Cambodia and especially like tripe and the other organ meats. Here in San Francisco we have a Little Saigon area where it is pretty fresh and authentic. At Tri, "Jinx". stuny Posted September 9, 2010 Share #5 Posted September 9, 2010 Henri - Beautiful, charming shot, lovely woman. We too love pho, though the best we had in Vietnam was at the Victoria Phan Thiet. We're also fortunate enough to have a superb, inexpensive Vietmanese restaurant in the Chelsea section of Manhattan. This is what we have to say about it on our site: Omai (Chelsea) -- Excellent Vietnamese food (the best we've found outside of Vietnam), moderately priced for Manhattan, and everything we've had there has been superb. It's rightfully very popular, so make reservations. 158 Ninth Ave. at 19th St., 212-633-0550 http://nymag.com/listings/restaurant/omai/
Doc Henry Posted September 9, 2010 Author Share #6 Posted September 9, 2010 Thank you my dear friends for looking . You are right : this soup called "pho" but this soup that we ate that day had no beef or chicken. As you saw in the link, it comes from Phnom Penh (Cambodia) and is called "pho" "Nam Vang" which means "Phnom Penh" Thanks once again for the nice comments to Tri,William and Enrico

tmldds Posted September 9, 2010 Share #8 Posted September 9, 2010 Henry, if it has shrimp, thinly sliced pork, ground pork and the noodle is somewhat clear and chewy, then it is called "Hu Tieu Nam Vang." I bet it was good!!! Tri:)

I bet it was good!!! Tri:) Tri, it's correct That is good ! Henry PS: On the camera I used, I went to Vietnam with M9 and M8. I left home my R8 too heavy for my old shoulders, I think the M8 gives good pictures and easy to use as here with this photo,a little in contre-jour where you can see the face of the daughter .With the M9 is underexposed. Have you noticed this?
