Advertisement Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Hi abrewer, Take a look here Beemer Thcreemer. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted January 8, 2007 Share #2 Posted January 8, 2007 Allan - As usual, you've posted a photo worthy of Bimmer's brochures. BTW: In the late 1940s and early 1950s the bikers who brought home BMW motorcycles called them "Bimmers", and the name stuck until yuppies called them "Beemers" thinking it sounder more German. I prefer the original. The same yuppies were referring to Lancias as Lahn-CEE-yuhs be cause it sounded Italian to them (Remember the Sorpione?). I couldn't convince any of them of the Italian pronunciation of LAHN-chuh
arthury Posted January 9, 2007 Share #3 Posted January 9, 2007 New 3-series at the show...truth be told this is the one I really wanted to drive home! MP35mmf2ASPH Kodak400UC (B&W conversion in PhotoKitEl3) Lovely styling and image ... and yes, I almost bought one myself but when I found out that the turbo-charger of the 335i twin-turbo was made by Mitsubishi, I put my money right back into my bank. No, thank you.
neila Posted January 9, 2007 Share #4 Posted January 9, 2007 Great shot - what colour was it? I wonder how the convertible will look......
cardinal Posted January 9, 2007 Share #5 Posted January 9, 2007 Great Shot Allan, I like the conversion too. There is going to be a big St.louis Auto show at the Ed Jones Dome during Jan 24-28. I am going to try to go. I can't wait to see the new Dodge Challenger there.
elansprint72 Posted January 9, 2007 Share #6 Posted January 9, 2007 Great shot - what colour was it? I wonder how the convertible will look...... It looks good, except it is covered with big black plastic lumps
steed Posted January 9, 2007 Share #7 Posted January 9, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just got the 335i twin turbo, which was promptly nicknamed "The trusy Wooster two seater", and I love it!!
abrewer Posted January 9, 2007 Author Share #8 Posted January 9, 2007 Thanks everyone for your comments. This one was white Neil. I can only imagine what two turbos strapped onto one of these would be like! Thanks. Allan
m_opel Posted January 9, 2007 Share #9 Posted January 9, 2007 I can only imagine what two turbos strapped onto one of these would be like! It's more meant to achieve a pleasing but still (very!) dynamic driveability, and not meant to achieve threatening power. And yes, it is a pleasure to drive one... as it is a pleasure to look at your photographs!
robert_parker Posted January 9, 2007 Share #10 Posted January 9, 2007 Lovely photograph Allan - the coupe is also a stikingly attractive vehicle

azzo Posted January 10, 2007 Share #12 Posted January 10, 2007 Beautifully caught and rendered in this tone, Allan. Best Azzo
neila Posted January 10, 2007 Share #13 Posted January 10, 2007 Allan, I guess there's a real danger with photographing white cars in B&W that you're going to lose detail. Do you have to compensate - underexposing a fraction? Fortunately I don't see too many white cars (no offence intended for those with white ones!), Newey's GT40 is about the only white car that looks attractive to my eye. The white Vanquish that Bez from AML was running around in was awful... However, I'd be interested in knowing if it's more tricky to photograph..... Rolo Posted January 10, 2007 Share #14 Posted January 10, 2007 As everyone above, thank you for showing. An extremely nice rendition. Love the toning. It gives life to the image. The framing is well designed and gives it the space it deserves. Rolo
