eleskin Posted September 3, 2010 Share #1 Posted September 3, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) My proposal to Leica is to take the X1 camera and modify it with an M mount and M9 sensor. It could be a little larger than the X1 or even M9. It would have a clip on EVF and an adapter for R lenses. It would also have built in image stabilization. With such a camera, M9 users would have an alternative backup, the R users would have the R solution, and those of us who need critical focus with fast lenses like the Noctilux and telephoto users would have a very attractive option. Price? Around $4,000 USD or so. It would not threaten the M9 in that it is not a true rangefinder, and yet it would offer an elegant solution for R lens users as well as people who have other lenses they would like to use by other manufacturers. I would bet many who own Nikon and Canon would buy it, and for Leica it would mean one thing. MORE CASH $$$$$ IN THE BANK FOR THEIR BOTTOM LINE! Build it and there will be many more customers!
