A very simple, cheap and handy Rapid Advance Lever for screw-mount Leicas has been marketed in the late 1940s by the American company Tech Photo Prod.,Inc. It was designed for use on any model from IIIc (above serial 400000) to IIIg. The thumb lock was simply put on the winding knob and secured by a tiny screw for which a screwdriver was included. After testing it, we can say that it was a little slower and less easy to use than the SYOOM, but much, much cheaper...
