Many of us are waiting to hear of the availability of a digital body to use with our R lenses. Can you please tell us about this, if there will be one, if so, what kind of body and technology will it have, timing of availability and price?

Thank you.

The Leica M9 is a magnificent camera body I think we all agree. However, there are a few design flaws and I would like to know if you have plans to correct these for a coming M9.2 etc.

1. The large round dial on the right side of the back of the camera cuts sharply into

ones hand when holding the M9 with just the right hand (as you need to press the

base of you thumb on it to have a secure grip). It is uncomfortable. Wouldn't it have

been better to have the "Dial" on the left side of the LCD screen or, at least, make

a shallower design of it so that it does not come out as much from the back of the

camera?

2. If we cannot get a Sapphire glass LCD screen, why not consider a plastic,

detachable, cover like on it, like used on Nikon's D200 / Fuji S5 Pro ?

Good luck with Photokina !!

Since 1989 whem my Father give my first Leica (one R3) I was one Leica R user who care to much for that brand and line of cameras.

In 2001 I buy anhoter R camera the R8 becuase I like very much the camera and R lenses.

However nowadays I feel very disapoit whit Leica since they stop made R cameras and lenses.

For me R camera owner and user it was like a Knife in my heart when Leica made this decision to stop the Mfg. of R line.

So my question to Leica was when Leica presents the digital solution for R users, or when Leica made the R10?

I hope Leica made one change in your way of thinking about the R line, or I will never buy any more Leica cameras.

Best,

Rui

That's a good idea, hadn't considered it before. As a left-eye shooter, I'm always wiping nose grease from the LCD, which doesn't happen on dslr's because the VF is in the centre. Moving the screen across would be a big benefit to me.

The ring is also the first thing on the back to hit the ground in a fall. One user I know dropped an M8 and the ring sunk in on one side on impact. Thankfully, Leica owned the camera.
