MEB Posted August 11, 2010 Share #1 Posted August 11, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am having a problem with LR3 that I never saw with prior versions. I'm wondering if there is a control that I'm not aware of that will deal with the following: My work flow is to import files from my camera card via a reader to a folder on my desk top. I am running the latest version of Mac Snow Leopard. I then rename the folder to something that will help me recognize its contents in the future along with an import date. I then open LR3 and tell it to import the folder. I direct it to copy the folder to my remotely (wirelessly) connected Drobo. In past versions, the software would follow my instructions and copy the renamed folder to the specific folder on the Drobo. The folder on the Drobo is named, "M9 Pictures"...go figure. The problem is that under LR3, the software is insisting on creating a new subfolder within the "M9 Pictures" called 2010_1 (etc). I don't want that. If I delete the "2010" folder that LR3 created and try again, it just re-creates the same folder again. I just want it to copy the folder, as named on my desktop, into the "M9 Pictures" folder on my Drobo. As I said, this was never a problem in LR, LR2 or any intermediate versions. Am I missing something? Thanks, Mark Blumer

elgenper Posted August 11, 2010 Share #2 Posted August 11, 2010 ....The problem is that under LR3, the software is insisting on creating a new subfolder within the "M9 Pictures" called 2010_1 (etc)....r Open the extended import dialog and set it up for copying just as you want it. Now, on the rightmost column, under the ´Target´ heading, there is a dropdown selection called ´Organize´ (I don´t have the English version, so possibly the terms are not exactly as my translations). Here, select ´Into one folder´ instead of ´by date´ or something else. That should do it.
