Hi

OOps his real name was

James Henry Miller but the was an actor so...

The real words were

"smelled a Spring on the Salford wind"

But the Salford community did not like that as it meant Salford was the dirty old town. This was post WWII where lots of it had been flattened by the Luffwaffen.

Sorry memory going, had to use google.

Noel

Gents,

I notice that the Parade isn't due to start until 1 pm so I plan to fulfill an early commitment and arrive in Mancs in the early afternoon with the intention of getting some shots of the parade as it ends around Chorlton Street and "anal treet":p.

Would someone kindly suggest a place we can meet after the parade for a leisurely pint, bite to eat and natter please and I'll plan to see you all there? The parade route and details aren't up yet but I'll assume that it'll be finished by 4 or 5 so shall we meet at around, say, 5 o'clock? (Alternative suggestions welcomed.)

Ta,

Pete.

A bit of information on the parade route:

The parade starts at 1pm and runs from the top of Deansgate near MOSI down through St Anne's Square, past Albert Square and finally ending at the Gay Village.

Thanks, Bob.

The site said that a map of the parade route would be posted nearer to the start, which is what a non-Mancunian such as myself would be grasping for.:)

May be about if I get finished helping Rolo get his float finished.

Sounds like his costume's ready then?;)

Have people seen this penny farthing race (held once every 10 years)?

No, but it looks interesting so thanks for posting.

The Knutsford Great Race

Think I'll be going on my bike (not a penny farthing, but at least I've got the 'tache)

I'll be there (Knutsford, not Manchester). :)
