Engraving Error

I have just bought a late Elmar 50mm f2.8. Serial 2188xxx.

The focus scale engraving shows meters (m) and imperial (fee) - no 't'.

In the postage stamp world this could drive collectors crazy!

Does this matter to a Leica collector? The lens shows 'slight signs of wear' (exc++).

I am just curious!

Wonderful error... or not an error, if they would like to make clear to english-speaking customers that to enjoy Leica gear you have indeed to PAY a fee... :D

(terrible...)

  • 2 weeks later...

Look by the front entrance; that is often where an engraving machine is. They are coin operated and self explanatory. Sometimes, you buy the tag by the cashier, and other times you select when you start.

I know PetSmart by me has one, but there is no PetCo nearby so I don't know about them, but I suspect similar.

Price often depends on how fancy of a tag you select.
