elansprint72 Posted August 3, 2010 Share #1 Posted August 3, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Cylinder #3 seems to be the source of my smoke. Please feel free to critique the artistic merit of this photo. First to say "great capture" can come and help me fix it.

pop Posted August 3, 2010 Share #4 Posted August 3, 2010 I, for one, fail to see the human interest in this snapshot. Do you have a particular reason for showing it to us? Was it a very expensive bit of your engine? (Ducks and runs)
daveleo Posted August 3, 2010 Share #5 Posted August 3, 2010 you think that's bad? . . . in the olden days, i blew a freeze plug in my 1960 MkII Jag (at 2X the speed limit) and they couldn't even find the piston rings when they torn it down. that is bad ! PS . . . nice capture, but i was expecting more emotional content . . . perhaps next time, huh?
likalar Posted August 12, 2010 Share #6 Posted August 12, 2010 Dave already said "nice capture" but it truly is nearly great. A few points: Consider rotating it a bit counter- clockwise, and maybe centering the center piston. I think you might also consider a bit more dof if you have a chance for a reshoot. Is this lit with a flash? It seems maybe the lens hood is making a shadow on the lower portion of this otherwise nearly great capture. Where was this taken? Any info on camera, lens, f-stop? Thanks!
