Stuart: I knew something was not quite right with all of my black and white attempts. It was those muddy tones that you pointed-out to me. I wonder why I didn't see them until you pointed it out. Thank you.

Al,

 

I discovered this beauty, all versions, quite late. The color version is gorgeous. I agree with Paul and Stuart, this BW is much better. It is such an irresistible image (a challenge ;)) that I thought I'd try my hand in converting it. I hope you don't mind. Here is another possibility:

You did the essential work by capturing this amazing beauty. I just played with the sliders in PS. It's such an endearing image. I hope you play with it some more and end up with a print on your wall.
