This is a lot better than the origional but still doesn't quite measure up to the color version.

This is much better, and as Pauls indicates, I think the color is still the stronger of the two.

I discovered this beauty, all versions, quite late. The color version is gorgeous. I agree with Paul and Stuart, this BW is much better. It is such an irresistible image (a challenge ) that I thought I'd try my hand in converting it. I hope you don't mind. Here is another possibility:
