Mmm9 Posted July 27, 2010 Share #1 Posted July 27, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Is it possible in LR3 or Bridge to easily import to folder A dng files, then import to folder B jpg files? I have so far kept my jpegs and raw files in separate folders. The difficultyies I have found are: (1) Bridge "save to file" takes ages, it is not simply copying files - and that function can select files of one type from the memory card before saving to file. (2) Importing from a card in Bridge does not give the option of choosing file type to import. (3) Importing in LR3 (with separate identification of jpg/dng) - and this is the crucial bit - does not permit filtering by file type: so you have to manually klick on each jpg/dng filer to import, something that is not practicable. Is there a simple way, other than opening the folder in a finder, arranging files by type, and shift-clicking on the files to copy? that seems a bit clumsy to me but faster than either of the above proper programmes. Thanks!

jaapv Posted July 27, 2010 Share #2 Posted July 27, 2010 In Image Ingester pro you can tick the files on the card and ingest to your chosen folder. It is not batch select, but one might ask the developer if it can be implemented, I suppose.
andybarton Posted July 27, 2010 Share #3 Posted July 27, 2010 Set your computer NOT to import automatically. When you open the card on the Desktop or in Windows Exploder, sort the files into type. DNGs will go on the top and jpgs will get sorted to the bottom. Highlight all the DNGs and drag them to Lightroom and tell LR where you want them to be stored. Do the same with the jpgs and tell LR the different location.
