JB - a Beautiful shot. However, I have removed your oversized image and replaced it with one that complies with Forum rules (no side larger than 960 pixels). In the future please abide by the rules.

Natural Symmetry.....

sohcsleeper, an amusing set of pictures, well observed and shot. However I am intrigued by your colour processing. Was it deliberately biased towards an old-fashioned look?

Yes it was...these were shot in Philadelphia and if you've ever been there, most days are gloomy and with thick overcast. For some reason adding the green tint to the images really added the right mood to how the city felt and I think is most representative of my photographic intention.

Yuchen, are you open to a suggestion? Taking your title as the clue, I would have liked to see the alternative effect of using f/2.8, if possible, so that the main subject stands out clearly against a softer urban background. I appreciate it is not easy to repeat this shot, but worth trying in the future to see the difference. You may still prefer everything sharp. It is entirely down to how you perceive the picture. I love shooting the X1 wide open at times. It is a super lens, quite capable of giving you a sharp picture, provided you get the focus point accurate.

Happy Shooting!

Hi David,

Thank you for your suggestion! I am still a learner and have to admit that I rarely consider different apertures for different objects. I usually set f11 and adjust shutter speed so that I am able to shoot people in a close range with pre set manual focus.

Best,

Yuchen
