Your photos from the X1 are way TOO SHARP whenever I take photos of ladies I soften the pics a bit. You are making the fundamental mistake IMHO haha when I first got the X1 I took photos of friends and colleagues and many girls werent too happy as all their wrinkles are displayed in their full "glory",.....:D

CJ - I do suppose I could soften them a bit. To be honest, I'm learning a lot about the PP process. I've got both LR3 and Aperture 3, and I'm a complete neophyte with regard to using either of them.

But I do like to see the potential of that great lens and sensor realized in the images though :)

Actually I am just jesting haha, your photos look great, but cant help but notice those wrinkles, dont get me wrong your subject is a beautiful lady! My females colleagues and friends run away when I point the X1 at them haha....they are frightened at what they may not want to see....

I think the X1 is too sharp sometimes to its detriment...

It was also suggested to me that for "flattering" portraits a little judicious use of the LR "clarity" slider is helpful - to the negative - to create exactly that softening effect.

I rather shoot old men where wrinkles appears to be assets photographically speaking and they dun really care, one of these days someone's X1 is gonna be smashed by irate ladies after seeing their sharp and detailed wrinkles.:D
