ndjambrose Posted August 4, 2010 Share #21 Posted August 4, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Shots at all speeds look the exactly the same to me irrespective of the firmware upgrade. I also note that the release notes make no mention of changes to any of the processing algorithms. On that basis I'm inclined to assume there is no difference. Lots of things may improve M8 high ISO images -- not least erring on the side of generous exposure or changing to a different RAW processor -- but the latest firmware isn't one of them, in my opinion. Advertisement Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Hi ndjambrose, Take a look here 2.005 and Noise. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
viramati Posted August 5, 2010 Share #22 Posted August 5, 2010 I find the RAW rendering in LR3 so much better that it's almost like having a new camera at higher iso. I work mostly with M9 (when it works and is not at SOLMS) but even with the 8 it is like gaining a full stop in noise quality over LR2

I have even been back into older pictures to reprocess them in LR3. It rocks!
