Most convincing way to add sloppy borders?

Today I went to the darkroom for the first time in years and remembered how much I like the look of sloppy borders. Is there any way to add such borders to my digital photos in a way that doesn't make them look fake or simulated when printed?

Ideally, each one would be unique and look slightly different from all the others. I also need to be able to print them at at least 8x10, if not a little larger.

Here's a scan of a print I made today to illustrate what I'm looking for. Thanks to anyone who can help with this. I don't want to deal with too much manual work w/ layers and masks in Photoshop. If there's a plug-in or stand-alone application that can do this, that would be best.

I love the way this forum expands my vocabulary. I had to look up "kitschy".

kitsch - excessively garish or sentimental art

synonyms:

bathetic, drippy, hokey, maudlin, mawkish, kitschy, mushy, schmaltzy, schmalzy, sentimental, soppy, soupy, slushy

Cheers,

Roy
