piblondin Posted July 14, 2010 Share #1 Posted July 14, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Today I went to the darkroom for the first time in years and remembered how much I like the look of sloppy borders. Is there any way to add such borders to my digital photos in a way that doesn't make them look fake or simulated when printed? Ideally, each one would be unique and look slightly different from all the others. I also need to be able to print them at at least 8x10, if not a little larger. Here's a scan of a print I made today to illustrate what I'm looking for. Thanks to anyone who can help with this. I don't want to deal with too much manual work w/ layers and masks in Photoshop. If there's a plug-in or stand-alone application that can do this, that would be best.

keithdunlop Posted July 15, 2010 Share #3 Posted July 15, 2010 This was made with PhotoFrame 4.5 The program does the masks for you automatically, as you requested, but there is also a lot of flexibility so you can make each frame a little different if you choose. jaapv Posted July 20, 2010 Share #5 Posted July 20, 2010 Ummm... Is adding sloppy borders to a digital image not a little bit kitschy?
RoySmith Posted July 21, 2010 Share #6 Posted July 21, 2010 I love the way this forum expands my vocabulary. I had to look up "kitschy". kitsch - excessively garish or sentimental art synonyms: bathetic, drippy, hokey, maudlin, mawkish, kitschy, mushy, schmaltzy, schmalzy, sentimental, soppy, soupy, slushy Cheers, Roy
