Don't want to steal your thunder but perhaps whet your appetite...I got the chance to try one on my M9 in my local store today and here's one of the results. Could post more if anyone interested. It's at 1.4, naturally. Forgot to re-set the lens detection to auto but never mind...

... added some vignetting

-----------------------------------

Somehow weird: here we are paying a fortune for these stellarlenses

and are forced to add lensdefects in PS to make a more interesting

photograph.

That´s how you spell art, I presume.

Great photos by the way, thx for sharing. I hope my dealer doesn´t

have one of the new lenses, I might not be able to resist.

Best

GEORG

If you are trying to demonstrate what an new lens can do, why add vignetting pp? Kind of defeats the object of the exercise, I'd say.

I also note that we now have two similar threads on this subject.

Gotta be honest, the use off added vignetting is used for many reasons, usually to make a (excuse me for saying this) somewhat dull image more interesting. It's the color version of converting to black and white.

Here are a couple WITHOUT vignetting!

I think a bit of vignetting would help with the last shots ;) seriously, don't understand the fuzz about the vignetting professors either.

There has been a trend of doing some unified high contrast, gritty, strong vignetting shots in the last months, now slightly getting under control.

If it works - it works!

I like, how especially the last shot turned out - that is quite some thin dof (in a good way) from a 35mm!
