michali Posted June 30, 2010 Share #1 Posted June 30, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Sony Alpha 850 & Leica Vario Elmar 105-280mm Most cats in the wild have large ranges and they cover very big distances, however they're also fairly territorial. So one soon gets to know which cats frequent a particular area. I recently came across this young male leopard a few times, in an area where I haven't seen any leopards for some time. None of us in the area have ever seen him before and have no idea where he came from, he's certainly made himself at home. He was very relaxed and let me stay with him for about an hour, after which he got up and vanished down a river bank. What was special for me about the time I spent with him and the pictures I took is that this was in mid-morning. Normally they're very skittish and hide during the day, they're really in their element only after dark. You will only see a leopard if it wants you to see it. Leopards are my favorite cats, they are the ultimate predator, solitary, stealthy, extremely intelligent and adaptable to just about any environment ranging from deserts to forests and mountains. Thanks for viewing.

stuny Posted June 30, 2010 Share #3 Posted June 30, 2010 Mike - Exquisite. For the most part my luck with Leopards is finding them resting or watching in trees. it's quite unusual to see them on the ground, much less just staying put.
