This is starting to sound like Nirvana, which is good.

What specifically does LR3 offer that makes processing high-ISO files so much better? I have LR2.6, but use Topaz software or Noise Ninja to held manage high-ISO noise. I am dying to know.

I was using Noise Ninja as well, but LR3 gives better results in my opinion, and it saves you from having to convert to tiff or jpeg. Faster, better + you could still use Noise Ninja or other software on top if you don't mind plastic looking picts.

You may download the trail version of L3 as I did and try yourself. Since L3 I like my high iso files so much. All my test are great. 2500 iso are really fine but 1250 iso is superb and most of the times is enough.
