stuny Posted December 31, 2006 Share #4 Posted December 31, 2006 Rainer - Most appealing for its subject, composition and tones. Interesting that no young people are in the photo.
rainer_p Posted December 31, 2006 Author Share #5 Posted December 31, 2006 ....thanks alot guys for the comments. Stuart, Vannes is a little town on the french west coast, in Brittany visited by many tourists in the summer but the folks living here are quite old people, des bourgeois. We have a university here but very small and most students (young people) live in Nantes and Rennes, two bigger cities respectly about 70-80 miles from here Eric, francais??? I almost exclusivily use tetenal and am quite satisfied with it. For my 30x40 prints I lately used Foma which is pretty nice but careful, it doesn"t support the green-yellow light i also tried for the second time the Ilford Warmtone devloper. Nice substitude for the Agfa Neutol that we don't find here anymore
thomasw_ Posted December 31, 2006 Share #6 Posted December 31, 2006 I love the shot. It is so full of everydayness, making the common seem interesting. As others have remarked, the composition is splendid.

christoph_d Posted January 2, 2007 Share #9 Posted January 2, 2007 Hello Rainer, Nice to see you've got your 50er Asph. - finally. When one has set one's mind to a Leica lens even waiting to carry it out of the shop takes too long! I remain curious to see how you will use the 50 focal lens in comparison to the 35 with which you were so comfortable and which you used so masterly. I like your picture. It seems that the distant gaze of the salesman is mirrored in the composition and perspective. Happy new year, C.
rainer_p Posted January 3, 2007 Author Share #10 Posted January 3, 2007 .....pas de pb Eric. Tu peux aussi essayer du Foma 111, genre de copie d'agfa mais fais gaffe dans la chambre noir. pas de lumiere jaune-vert. thanks christoph. it arrived the 29th and left germany the 28th. first leica france annonced the 27th as the arival date, though I spend all day in town watching every fucking delivery car. nothing the 28th and I started getting angry but when it came the 29th......everything was forgotten the photo could have been taken with a 35, just had to make a couple of steps in front but just for the distance. I feel very confortable with this lens and don't miss the 35 till now have a great year 2007
Guest Bernd Banken Posted January 3, 2007 Share #11 Posted January 3, 2007 Rainer, A Happy New Year! Pls., never give up the 35mm except for a 28mm Cheers Bernd PS: since Dec. 9th a Leica M6, 35mmCVpancake, 50cron + 90mm Tele-Emarit waits in a bag. All used stuff - let's see whether I can master the rangefinder view:D
