Wolfgang Esslinger Posted June 22, 2010 Share #1 Posted June 22, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anyone travelled with both cameras and found a way to avoid carrying two voluminous chargers? I know for M there is a smaller one but before I buy it I want to make sure there is not a combined solution around the corner. Second question: Any experience with solar chargers for M and/or DMR? I will be travelling with a backpack for several days without electrical power supply. And with 3 DMR batteries I will be down after about 6 hours of taking photos. I am not sure yet how long the M batteries last. I have already spoken to a dealer, Leica and a battery specialist (Ansmann) in Germany but without success. Hoping for a more positive response from the forum. Thanks.
Advertisement Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Hi Wolfgang Esslinger, Take a look here Travel with M8 + DMR: combined battery / charger solution? . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted June 22, 2010 Share #2 Posted June 22, 2010 Given the small number of DMRs made, and the fact that they have not been made for years, the chances of a third party charging solution for DMR batteries must be close to zero. Having a combined M8/DMR solution must be significantly less than that.

Wolfgang Esslinger Posted June 23, 2010 Author Share #4 Posted June 23, 2010 @ question #2 : If you get a 12V solar charger you can use the car battery cable. Thank you for this idea. Not yet found an adequate 12 V charger but this might be a solution.
