Advertisement Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 Hi jplomley, Take a look here Guess what happened today?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
hoppyman Posted June 24, 2010 Share #22 Posted June 24, 2010 That's a nice theory Graham However when people have already been queued up waiting sometime to try to get the older lens here, now out of production, it's unsurprising that they will be offered the replacement model ahead of new orders. Rats! I did my best to be number one in the queue . This shouldn't happen if you ensure that you request p/n 11663 and NOT just 35 Summilux ASPH or the old p/n 11874 (which is what B&H has listed on it's web site). Originally Posted by hoppyman Aagh! gwelland Posted June 25, 2010 Share #23 Posted June 25, 2010 Geoff, Aha - I see what you mean now. I must have got confused that your new orders would have been satisfied with the OLD lens - not quite what you meant. Old back orders will get the new lens ahead of new orders for the new lens ... well, I guess that makes sense if the old lens is now out of production. It's logical really isn't it, particularly if you're already waiting for the lens! However, I'm a bit surprised that there would be an existing wait list because the 'old' lens has been readily available new, at least on the top-side of the planet.
