Long image transfer time to card problem.

A few months ago i had this similar problem with my camera and it happened again this morning....

I was taking photo's normally in single shot mode. After a few minutes of picture taking there was a whiteout on the screen as the picture was being processsed to the card. This happened twice in a row but the transfer time was ok, but the third time the transfer time took about 3 mins, even though i turned the camera off after 2 mins of waiting, the red light still blinked away.

I actually missed the shot i wanted. I would be grateful for any ideas. The camera is working fine again now.

Was it very dark or did you leave the lens cap on? It sounds like the camera exposed for 32 secs and did a 32 sec black frame noise reduction.

Make sure that the dial did not slip away from Aperture priority mode, "A".

 

It has happened to me on occasion. The nice thing is that once it happens and you diagnose the problem, it's the first thing you look for.

Hi, thanks,,no, none of these things happened. I was shooting fairly slowly with the lens cap off and the exposures were good, because this had happened before the first thing i did when i saw the whiteout was check the dials, nothing was amiss or changed since taking the ok exposures.

It was a well lit day taking pictures of roses!,,oh and the transfer time was way longer than 30 seconds, it was about 3 minutes.
