shootinglulu Posted May 30, 2010 Share #1 Posted May 30, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi. Please can anyone advise me, are the red dots here dead pixels:confused: or the sensor in my M8 poor, as far as you can see? I took the shot with the lens cap on, camera under a heavy dark coat, at iso 2500 and this is a magnification which is representative of the whole picture. Thanks a lot. Advertisement Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Hi shootinglulu, Take a look here Dead pixels?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted May 30, 2010 Share #2 Posted May 30, 2010 I think it means you overstressed the black frame hot pixel reduction. This is a 32 sec. exposure. I don't think there is any practical consequence to this test
ho_co Posted May 30, 2010 Share #3 Posted May 30, 2010 Looks typical of what I get without dark coat but with lens cap. A dead pixel would be black. Completely meaningless to picture taking IMHO.
