stunsworth Posted May 28, 2010 Share #1 Posted May 28, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm thinking of going again this year - probably the second week in September. Anyone interested? Advertisement Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 Hi stunsworth, Take a look here Visa pour l'image - Perpignan. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
robert_parker Posted May 28, 2010 Share #2 Posted May 28, 2010 Hi Steve I might be tempted - only thing is the first week would be a lot easier to fit in the callendar (also would fit in with the evening presentations / screenings) Cheers Robert
stunsworth Posted May 28, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted May 28, 2010 Robert, at the moment the second week is definitely better for me - I start a new contract soon that ends after the first week in September. If the contract is extended I'd go for the first week instead, but I'd rather not lose a week's pay if it isn't. Hope that makes sense. Incidentally the Ibis in Perpignan is already fully booked. That could mean staying in Canet and driving in.
robert_parker Posted May 28, 2010 Share #4 Posted May 28, 2010 Hi Steve Looks like there is some availability during the second week but only at 'normal' rates , though availability did change last year, nearer the date - that being said, I'm not sure Canet wouldn't be as good an option anyway - drive in, or 1 Euro on the bus
stunsworth Posted May 29, 2010 Author Share #5 Posted May 29, 2010 Robert, which Ibis was that in - there are three? Two of them are a bit of a way out of the centre. Canet's ok, I've stayed there in the past, but it's a bit of a soulless beach resort.
adli Posted May 29, 2010 Share #6 Posted May 29, 2010 I'll probably join a workshop in the first week there
Guest suilvenman Posted June 1, 2010 Share #7 Posted June 1, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Anyone going to Perpignan might want to visit the former Camp Joffre at Rivesaltes, a few kilometres to the north on the A9 motorway. A place with a fascinating modern history and lots of photo opportunities. It's the kind of historical site that's not well sign-posted. Ken.

Steve It was the one in the centre - Cours Lazare Escaguel - I think it's still got rooms at about Eur70 but prices change the nearter you get to the date
stunsworth Posted June 2, 2010 Author Share #9 Posted June 2, 2010 Hi Robert, the Ibis seems to be booked up until near the end of the second week in September. I'm waiting to receive my new contract and when it arrives I'll know exactly when it's going to end. I'll then book a hotel in Perpignan. I imagine I'll arrive on a Sunday and probably book three nights stay.
Michael Geschlecht Posted July 20, 2010 Share #10 Posted July 20, 2010 Hello Everybody, It's nice around there. I used to work nearby. Speaking of which while you are there why not consider going to Arago/Tautavel? Not far at all. There are not many places like Arago in the entire world. Best Regards, Michael
