yesterday, somebody gave me a gossen sixtomat colorfinder.. it is in perfect condition, and everything works still fine...(in my opinion, but who am i?)

does anybody have some experience with this (in my opinion, beautifully designed) piece of equipment?

i do not need it for my SL, but i intend to use it for my very old MF-camera's from the 50's..(agfa, lubitel tlr and some more stuff)

i really like this little meter...i would be very gratefull, to hear from people who still use this nice german instrument..

THX!! :)

If you look at the bottom there is a colour temperature scale, which works by matching colour patches. A nice, but not very useful feature. You can choose the range by half-closing the blinds up to the mark. These meters are eminently usable, but given the age it is wise to compare them against a new one in case they are slightly off.

THX! the color temperature scale, also did not seem to me very usefull when i first saw it, as this meter is already from some age..(and most of the time, i will be shooting B/W 120 film with it..) i am going to try it out, and see, how much the meter is off, since the white plastic, has become a tiny bit yellow/ish, so, i believe, that this could affect somewhat the metering with the blinds halfway.. i also shoud check out, if the selenium/cells are still in good shape..i've got a friend, who has a very good sekonic meter, so i am going to lend this one, to compare it, to this oldie..

it is a very nice meter, indeed..i think, i have some fiddling to do, when i am off with my old-school TLR of MF camera´s.. but with this old school stuff, it is always very nice to do some fiddling around..

thank you very much, for your reply and for helping me out! i really appreciate it!

I have an old Gossen Sixon. For this meter, the blinds were for incident light metering.
