robsteve Posted December 28, 2006 Share #1 Posted December 28, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just ran across this Noctilux photo when looking though some of the old stuff on my web server. This was f1, E200 at 200iso. Robert
Advertisement Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Hi robsteve, Take a look here Noctilux for Sports. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
blovitch Posted December 28, 2006 Share #2 Posted December 28, 2006 Perception of sharpness is remarkable for F1.0... Top Notch image. I think my 30% voucher could well be ending up with a tick in the Noctilux box. -Tim
abrewer Posted December 28, 2006 Share #3 Posted December 28, 2006 Great action shot Rob, and impressive skill with that lens. I continue to be amazed at how many people discount the M for this purpose. I've been extremely happy with the MP shooting sports action up close. Thanks for sharing the photo and the insight. robsteve Posted December 28, 2006 Author Share #5 Posted December 28, 2006 When I get my M8 I intend on trying a few shots of basketball with it. It will have higher ISO so I could probably get along with a f2 lens.

Could grab the Canon with the 300 on it for when they're at the other end. I see a lot of guys doing something similar with a long lens and a wide at games. Thanks. robsteve Posted December 29, 2006 Author Share #7 Posted December 29, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) On a Canon 1D which has about the same sensor size as the M8, a 85mm f1.8 was good from either side. This makes me think 75mm f2 or Noctilux again. A 35mm f2 right under the basket would be good too.
