aesop Posted May 27, 2010 Share #2 Posted May 27, 2010 ...<snip>"The camera was instantly accessible all day every day, no matter how cold it got. Every time I wanted the camera to work, it did. The focusing was fast and the shutter never failed – not once – during the entire expedition. Missing a shot because of camera failure due to severe cold was never a worry, no matter how low the temperature reached.". ...the camera's fine - if the resulting photography sucks, it is you. Now go and better yourself. Thanks for the link, Robert. Awesome.
ho_co Posted May 29, 2010 Share #3 Posted May 29, 2010 Nice thing about cold like that is that the external VF freezes to the body so you don't need to worry about losing it. Of course, sometimes it freezes to the photographer's eyeball as well. Nice if delayed response to the group of 5D Mk II's (IIRC) going down in the LuLa Antarctica tour a couple years back. Thanks for the heads-up.
