peebee2 Posted December 28, 2006 Share #1 Â Posted December 28, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have recently purchased an SF24D external flash for my Digilux 2. However, nowhere does the manual mention use with this camera. Does anybody know the correct model no. (i.e. CM,R8/R9, M6, etc etc.) which will give me the same instructions as for a Digilux ?? cbretteville Posted December 28, 2006 Share #2  Posted December 28, 2006 Peter, Welcome to the forum.  Part of the CM explanation is correct in that the D2 uses GNC and not TTL. OTOH the D2 communicates much more with the flash than does the CM (at least from what I read in the manual). Set the flash to TTL/GNC and let the camera do the rest.  You might also want to play with the flash set to 'A'. I'm seeing good results letting the flash think rather than the camera. You also avoid the pre-flash this way. The flash still receives data from the camera for f-stop as well as ISO.  - Carl  PS: Go to leicagoodies and treat your self to a SFILL (Get your SFILL!). Its a little softbox for the SF20/24. At $30 its well worth the money. Just be aware that they stop shipping on Dec 31st so you need to decide quickly. ho_co Posted December 28, 2006 Share #3 Â Posted December 28, 2006 Peter-- My understanding is that the SF24 D was more or less designed for the Digilux 2. In fact, in the US there was a Digilux 2 promotion that included a free SF24 D. Â That doesn't answer your question, but in the little bit of playing I've done with the SF24 D on the D2, I found that the two seemed to communicate with each other well. Â I think Carl's instructions are the best: Go play with the combination in the modes he suggests, and you should good results. Â --HC
