Guest tvleeskr Posted December 10, 2010 Share #21 Posted December 10, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Ola Enrico, I think you and I may be kindred souls in some respects. We both see Shades of Grey when so much of the Internet World seems to attempt to reduce opinions and observations to strictly Blacks or Whites. On a more humorous note: You MUST be a Scholar, Artist, and Gentleman, because you agree with me. :-) ha ha ha. More Seriously though: Just found out my Financial Limbo should be resolved in 60-90 days and I should be in the M8 & M Lens buyers market a month or two after that. Richard in Michigan Ola?? Isn't that an icecream make??:D
Advertisement Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Hi Guest tvleeskr, Take a look here notkon 50mm/1.1. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ArtZ Posted December 10, 2010 Share #22 Posted December 10, 2010 I love the CV Nokton 50/1.1 I haven't regret my purchase. I find the Nokton is a very easy lens to focus. I have more problems to focus my Summicron 90 APO ASPH @ f/2 However, I find some of the examples posted above are slightly out of focus or speed used was a bit too low for hand held shooting. I get sharper images with this lens but, as a rule, I tried to shoot at speed higher than 1/45 - 1/60. I prefer increasing ISO to 320 or 640. In fact, as this lens is not really small (and not really light), when I shoot at 1/30 (or less) I get "soft" images, just like some of the pictures posted in this thread. I think this is due to shutter vibration (I have the original 1/8000 M8 shutter
drdannn Posted December 11, 2010 Share #23 Posted December 11, 2010 I tried out the CV 40mm ( friend loaned it to me ), 1.4. Much sharper than the 1.1. Very light weight , compact, fast, and on an m8 gives me 53mm view. Anybody else tried this lens as an alternative to the 1.1 ?
jamesk8752 Posted December 11, 2010 Share #24 Posted December 11, 2010 I tried out the CV 40mm ( friend loaned it to me ), 1.4. Much sharper than the 1.1. Very light weight , compact, fast, and on an m8 gives me 53mm view. Anybody else tried this lens as an alternative to the 1.1 ? I have the CV 40/1.4 and 50/1.1 lenses and I agree with your assessment of the 40/1.5. But there are times when only the 50/1.1 will give me what I want - its usability in very low light and its less busy bokeh for example. For certain "mood" images it would be my choice over the 40/1.4. Fortunately I can afford to keep both... Regards, Jim
