FiZZ Posted May 24, 2010 Share #1 Posted May 24, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) So my version 1 35mm 'cron has a serious vignette when I shoot at f/2. Not complaining, but is this a characteristic of the lens?
Advertisement Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Hi FiZZ, Take a look here 35 'cron Vignette?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
luigi bertolotti Posted May 24, 2010 Share #2 Posted May 24, 2010 Erwin Puts - Leica Lens Compendium - on the 1st Summicron 35 : .." at full aperture vignetting is 2.5 stops and at aperture 2.8 is 2 stops.." No much changed with the 2nd version (same source) : ..." Vignetting is high with more than 2.5 stops, but the lens is distortion free"... Then the 3rd version: ..." Vignetting is lower with less than 2 stops, but now some distortion is visible..." Then the legendary 4th version : ..." Vignetting is high with 2.5 stops and distortion is not visible..." ...and finally the ASPH ! : ..." Vignetting is lower with 1.8stops and distortion is only visible at the far out zones..". Of course, less noticeable on the cropped M8...
Xmas Posted May 24, 2010 Share #3 Posted May 24, 2010 So my version 1 35mm 'cron has a serious vignette when I shoot at f/2. Not complaining, but is this a characteristic of the lens? Can you scan a corner with uniform illumination like a sky, were you using a filter and/or a hood? Noel
