stuny Posted May 24, 2010 Share #2 Posted May 24, 2010 Pete - Excellent shot, and a rare view of this little beauty ('57?). Barbara would say it has got a lovely booty.
elansprint72 Posted May 24, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted May 24, 2010 Yes, 56/57, I was a mere child at the time. Here it is taken from the front. With a large white van and a small black Austin. It is for sale, shall I put in a bid for you Stuart?

kkochheiser Posted May 24, 2010 Share #5 Posted May 24, 2010 Just lovely! About the earliest I recall seeing as a young child was a TR59 in the hands of Augie Pabst at the Road America 500. Nice to see and hear them running! Thanks for sharing. Kent PS: Great galleries on your site. I need to do better. KK
elansprint72 Posted May 26, 2010 Author Share #6 Posted May 26, 2010 Stu and Kent- thanks for commenting on this minority-interest(!) thread. What no photograph of the 3ltr (ish) V12 engines can convey is the variety of noises that these motors put out; the smooth, almost silent, tick-over (even on straight-thro' pipes) yet with a vicious bark as the throttle is blipped and the screaming wail as they come on cam. My website has been neglected due a lack of time and, paradoxically, too many photos to process. I seem to have taken well over 50k digital images since I started down that road in late 2004 (however at least four of these shots have been keepers). Yesterday evening I was at a very busy, against the clock, motor-sports event; shot 460 Nikon frames for 4 clients and 24 frames on Digilux2, for no other reason than possible inclusion on this forum (only a couple of these were even worth considering). I'll get paid for perhaps 50 of the Nikon shots and had to tote the D2 and try to fit in shooting with it purely on the off-chance that I would have something worth showing here. Not worth the trouble, really.
