cheewai_m6 Posted May 20, 2010 Share #1 Posted May 20, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) i was walking down the street during my lunch break and saw this beautiful vw karmann ghia. it just looked right to my eyes. i usually have a 35mm on my camera, 35mm just seems to suit me down to the bone. sometimes i would like a 28mm. there is some major vignetting, i didn't really mind it there so i left it. M6. 35mm summicron type 3. fuji superia 200. scanned neg, levels adjusted slightly in lightroom.
Advertisement Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Hi cheewai_m6, Take a look here vw karmann ghia. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
storybrown Posted May 20, 2010 Share #2 Posted May 20, 2010 I like this as it is. FWIW, I think I would crop out the telephone pole &c & just have the auto & cottage, mostly, putting up with the hi-line wire . . . nice work!
likalar Posted May 20, 2010 Share #3 Posted May 20, 2010 Very nice shot. The Karmann Ghia is always a favorite of mine; this looks like a good example. Its flowing shape contrasts nicely with the angular shapes of that great looking house. Larry
ldhrads Posted May 20, 2010 Share #4 Posted May 20, 2010 Nice capture, I agree, would crop down a bit to just the house and car, I think the juxtaposition of the shapes is great!!!

earleygallery Posted May 20, 2010 Share #6 Posted May 20, 2010 I like the way the colours of the car and house match, and agree, I'd have moved closer or cropped down to have just those two subjects in the frame.
pauledell Posted May 20, 2010 Share #7 Posted May 20, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Nice shot. I agree about cropping to include just the car and house. Just leave the wet street with the great reflections and clone out the power lines. Paul
cheewai_m6 Posted May 21, 2010 Author Share #8 Posted May 21, 2010 thanks for comments everyone. i agree with moving in closer. i didn't see that at the time, but i do now. i think i have a wide angle preference, which is why i showed more than just the car and house. but i agree with the comments. the paint on this vw has either been looked after perfectly, or restored. it was without blemish. the flowing lines of this car is gorgeous. kkochheiser Posted May 21, 2010 Share #9 Posted May 21, 2010 Nice photo! I think with the crop and converted to B&W this would look great with the reflections and all. It would be difficult to tell if this was shot now or 40 years ago. Kent
daveleo Posted May 21, 2010 Share #10 Posted May 21, 2010 good work . . . i'd rop it as noted above. thought it needed rotating too, but the house verticals show that the street is sloped,
