X1 inconspicuous carry bag

I also got the Leica carrying case and initially, the flash kept popping out when the camera was pulled out of the case, but after awhile (when the case gets worn in), it doesn't happen anymore. Another grudge that i'm facing however is that sometimes when opening the case, the plastic lens cap falls out!

Besides these issues, the case is beautifully made and really complements the X1...

I wonder for what reason one would put the lens cap on the x1 if one carries it in this original solid Leica bag?

I am trying to decide if I find the bag "retro and cool" or if I find it "snobby".

I think the first.

Same here. I ordered the original Leica case because I think it looks cool and I get rid of the annoying lens cap. There is very little reason to use the lens cap with the 'hard' leather lens cover from the bag IMO.

First time I saw the Leica case I was surprised how big it actually is. It makes the X1 much bigger due to the - in my view - little excessive padding.

I have the more or less comparable leather case for my Panny LX3 which I've used for a long time. The folding design of the Panny case seems much better and more functional to me then the sliding design Leica uses for their cases. We'll see...

That Carga Bag is truly beautiful! Thanks for posting it.

Sure! It has an interior pocket that for me, fits:

1) an extra battery

2) extra card

3) lens cloth

4) giottos retractable goats hair brush

It also has a leather belt loop on the back in case you want it to be on your belt instead of on your shoulder.

For a snugger fit and more padding, I made an ""L" shaped felt pad to the dimensions of the camera, so that the Voigt viewfinder would rest on the right and the lens would be forward. What's nice about it is that the dials are ensured not to touch anything since they have 1/2 inch from the side. I never have to worry about the dials this way. And it's always in the perfect position for me to grab it with my finger on the trigger. Sorry- I had to take the photo with my iPhone.

I bought this Case Logic camera case 2 years ago and I used it with D-Lux4. now it's fit perfect to my X1+hand grip.

Veerachi - that case would make me nervous. I specifically don't want a case with a zipper as it's metal and will scratch eventually. Some manufacturers try to sleeve the zipper, but I don't trust it personally.

Edward - you thought is right but we are using the camera and it can somehow difficult not to have any scratch on it. for me, i've just need to be careful when i keep in back to the case and zip it. the Tamrac 5689 pro from Chris Huck was also nice but it cannot fit with the hand grip.
