ouch...

She should have been told that the Capitol Bldg. and the White House are different things (not all buildings have been created equal, y'all know...)

You are right, that is a disturbing mistake in the video. Should be corrected.

Greetings Ralf

Same error in the German version. Poor script checking.

But what bothers me is the voice of the English speaker. To me, the accent sounds fake. Maybe not to Brits? Heaven knows, there are enough versions of English around. ;)

The German version sounds fine to my ear, but the English version is really offensive, vulgarly ostentatious. Not going to win the American audience IMHO. Andreas, your term "florid descriptions" is apropos.

Another problem: In their old print brochures, Leica didn't have any 'half-way' shots. They were all good. No other manufacturer did as good a job of putting nothing but 'keepers' in their marketing materials. Not so here. These stills all look like mere tourist snaps.

Fake 3D on the opening shot works beautifully, on the Capitol it's so-so, very subtle on the Plaza Vieja #19 roof shot. On the Chevy it's fine, at least up till the car and street perspectives are clearly mis-matched. But why, oh why did the producer decide to do fake 3D on lens flare? And on two different shots? The flare itself may even be fake, but why would anyone choose to call attention to it? For a camera company, that's offensive.

A question: I don't know Spanish. Is the male character's name properly pronounced? In both the German and English versions, it's given three syllables--pa O lo. I may be wrong, but to me it would sound better if read more like Italian PAO lo.

The music is perfect, pleasant and unobtrusive. The models are attractive and fit the part, young and healthy and 'with it.' But the English-language version of the video leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth. Yes, I'd still like to go to Havana, and yes, the V-Lux 20 looks to me like an okay carry-along snapshot camera. But those are feelings I have despite the video, and they aren't enhanced by it.

Another positive note: At least his video isn't as hokey as the "3 1/2 Stories" were. But it probably cost a third of what that one did, and it shows.

I hope it scores better with a younger audience.

Just my opinion.

Some of these photos look like the ones in the X1 brochure as far as I can remember!

Nowhere does it state that they were taken with the V-Lux 20 altho' that is the implication.

Would have liked to have learned more about the camera but the lovely girl goes a long way to compensate!

Same error in the German version. Poor script checking.

The whole video is nonsense IMHO, because the camera is interchangeable very easy (beside the zoom factor) and one can show neary the same promotion video with a D-Lux or C-Lux. They do not attract the real target customers for that camera! Should be replaced. By the way: why always Cuba?
